Continue to cut and arrange squares until your quilt is the size you wish it to be. Then you will sew the squares together to make rows. Then you will sew these completed rows together. Your top will begin to come together. You will need to purchase quilt batting and a backing fabric for your quilt. Think of this as creating a sandwich with the batting as the center between the top and the bottom fo the quilt. Once you have everything lined up you will need to safety pin it all together. The safety pins help to keep everything in its place while you hand quilt or machine quilt your piece. If you don’t feel you are ready to quilt or your sewing machine is not able to do it, you can also tie the quilt with yarn. Finally to finish your blanket you will need to put the edging onto the blanket. It is the most easy to use double folded bias ribbon for this.
