Using Organization To Keep Yourself Productive
Chances are, you enter into every day with the intention of being as productive as you possibly can that day. But oftentimes, you can reach the end of the day and wonder where the day went, realizing that you were not able to be productive at all! If you have realized that you sometimes struggle to achieve the maximum personal productivity you wish to achieve, you might benefit from organizing your life just a bit.
When you want to achieve maximum personal productivity through the organization of your life, it helps to create specific categories in which you can “store” the elements of your life. The sooner you get started coming up with definite categories, the sooner you will have categories that you feel comfortable assigning different areas of your life to. Start by figuring out exactly what you hope to achieve each day – in work, and in your own life – and come up with categories each achievement might fit into.
As your categories become more defined, you will be able to refine both the categories themselves and the items that go into them. As you do this, you can also begin to create an “order of importance” in which your categories align themselves. For instance, you might work in an accounting firm, but your passion might be your family, and your hobby might be music. As you separate each of these into specific categories of “work, passion, and hobby” – with subheadings among these categories – you will be able to better distinguish one element of your life from another. In this way, you can turn your attention to training yourself to focus fully on each separate category when it arises. This will allow you to focus fully on work while you are there, and to focus fully on your family when you are with them, and to focus fully on your hobby when you are indulging in your hobby.
You will be able to achieve maximum personal productivity as you organize your life into separate categories, and as you become aware of which category you are engaged in at any given time!
